hipsters revisited

I’m a huge fan of Unhappy Hipsters, as I mentioned here a while back, so I thought i’d revisit the site, and share some of my – appropriately child-focused – recent favorites.

I can’t resist UH’s window on the Dwell-home dwellers’ irrelevant daily activities. Actually, I adore these modernist homes…and, for the record, don’t find “grays” the least bit “grim”.

Looks like fun! Perhaps I could rig-up an indoor swing in our office? These bright homes look like cool places to grow up…aside from the concrete floors and sharp-edged furniture.

I could see an O&L-clad crib slotting into that vacant corner very nicely. Oh, click any of these images to visit the UH post and check out readers’ caption attempts/comments.

dwell pick-up

A while back, I mentioned that we’d featured in Dwell’s 2010 Buyers’ Guide. We had trouble tracking down a copy in the UK, but I thought I’d have no such issues in Boston.

I was wrong. And after hours scouring Borders, Barnes & Noble et al, we’d all but given up hope. Luckily, we spied one at Logan Airport, in Hudson News, just before departure!

Our Egg blanket only makes a small appearance (top LH page) but we’re very proud to make the guide; the style bible for design. And now we have our very own copy, yay!

dwell buyers’ guide

Fantastically positive news to round-off this week (you can tell I’m excited!), we’ve been featured in Dwell’s 2010 Buyers’ Guide, showcasing editors’ top design picks for the year!

No shot of the inside, as I don’t yet have a copy. I was (embarrassingly) alerted by a PR agency, touting for business! Thanks to Sam, who’s clearly far more on the ball than me.

Anyway, our mention (on page 118) ironically features our – now discontinued – Egg blanket. And we still have some available in our sale, at 70% off!
