eames coasters

Having finally got round to distributing some friend gifts from our last trip, we got a pleasant surprise. Lurking at the bottom of the bag, some rather fabulous coasters…

As you can see, we picked these up at the MoMA in NYC. Fitting we just found them, as I was reminded of our Eames ‘fetish’ earlier [...]

paper and paint

Now we’re back in the UK, for a few weeks at least, we’ve started thinking about our new place, which I introduced a while back. Step one involves choosing some paint colours.

Colour representation isn’t great; the top three are distinctly different shades of grey,  bottom left is chocolate, middle is mid-brown, right is olive green. [...]

point of view

We’re in. And though not totally back to normal, we’re getting there. Aside from a big broadband delay (AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!) it’s been pretty much plain sailing.

As you’d expect, I’ll be sharing my photos over the coming weeks. Initially though, something a bit quirky; the rather un-glamorous view from our second floor landing…

There are arguably far better [...]

are we nearly there yet?

Almost. We’re literally on the verge of moving. For us, that means moving home and office. Fun on one hand but a pain in in the backside very disruptive on the other.

We’ll do our best to maintain a normal service. Ordering shouldn’t be affected but we won’t be taking calls or dealing with non-urgent emails, [...]

on the move

After a predictably twisty, turny, up and down affair, we’re finally on the move…unless something VERY dramatic happens. Hmmm, I really shouldn’t tempt fate, should I?

We’ve exchanged contracts which (in the UK) means both parties are legally bound to complete the sale/purchase. I can almost smell the new, albeit vulgar, stair carpet.

We have mixed emotions [...]

world cup party

Sorry for being a bit flaky recently. To explain, we’re in the midst of moving house, it was my birthday this week and we’re just about to host a big World Cup party.

If you didn’t know, England are about to take on the US in both nations’ opening game. I won’t bore you with footy talk, [...]

chair obsessed

Last weekend was a hectic one, with a ‘stag do’ and a wedding to attend. We did manage to squeeze in some shopping though and (unexpectedly) bought this chair…

It was an impulse buy but – at 50% off – also an absolute steal. Plus we’ve had our eyes on it for ages. Unfortunately we had [...]

beautiful kitchens

Not strictly Olli & Lime coverage, but Beautiful Kitchens magazine just featured our kitchen; partly because it’s pretty unusual, and partly because we did it so cheaply!

The kitchen looks extremely modest alongside others in the mag, in every sense; from sheer scale to finish and function. Not to mention – as naturally follows – cost!

Five minutes [...]

let it snow (some more)

Yesterday I said it snowed. Perhaps a bit premature ‘cos last night it really snowed…

Not often we get ‘proper’ snow. I may be tempted to build a snowman just here…

Needless to say I’m not attempting to venture out today…well, not in the car anyway.

I did decide to take a stroll down our street though, which [...]

let it snow

Up until now, we’ve only had a hint of snow in our town this winter, although it’s been promised for weeks. Well today it did snow…big time…by our standards anyway.

Hardly headline news to most of you…particularly those in Canada and northern states. But when it snows here, things kinda stop, much like these footprints…

See what I [...]
