Having finally got round to distributing some friend gifts from our last trip, we got a pleasant surprise. Lurking at the bottom of the bag, some rather fabulous coasters… As you can see, we picked these up at the MoMA in NYC. Fitting we just found them, as I was reminded of our Eames ‘fetish’ earlier [...] A bit personal but with an O&L tie-in, so I think we’re okay. Just to say, a big congrats to our good friends Sup (pronounced ‘Soup’) and Helen, who married this week. Woo-hoo! And the O&L connection? This (rather blurry) snap taken in Bath, when the pair were clearly delighted to stumble-upon our product display at [...] Despite Boston’s impressive haul of historic architecture, dating back longer than you’d probably think, one of its most striking buildings is this Brutalist offering from the 1960s. Loved and loathed in far from equal measure, Boston City Hall just can’t be ignored. It displaced one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods so wasn’t welcomed by most people. Now though, this [...] Just a quick post to say we’ve arrived in Boston, for the second half of our East Coast trip. We’re staying in our favourite neighbourhood, South End, in an apartment we’ve rented… The apartment is just about perfect. At ‘parlor level’ with jaw-dropping proportions, period features and tasteful, minimal decor. I think we’re gonna find it [...] If you follow our tweets, you may have noticed I mentioned we stayed at the Hudson Hotel. We couldn’t have picked much better, both for practicality and design indulgence. We like to walk pretty much everywhere, so location is extremely important. The Hudson is very central, near(ish) to the show we attended, and handy for everything [...] What’s not to love about New York City? Such a great place to visit. Last time here was in December 2007, for our honeymoon no less. Looks and feels very different this time. We’re (just about) based on the upper-west side but we gravitate towards SOHO etc. And West Village. Now there’s somewhere we could live. Shame [...] I haven’t written a cat-related post for a while – and don’t panic, not my intention to make a habit of it – but I couldn’t resist this one, featuring our ultra-photogenic cat, Bert… He’s taken to using my MacBook, when hooked up to my monitor, as a heated cat cushion. He is an odd little [...] Finally I get round to drawing a line under our Pacific Northwest holiday business trip! Sorry for the delay. Blame the jet-lag and the insanely busy week we’ve just had. Anyway, for my last travel-related post (for this trip at least), I’d just like to catch you up on some other highlights from our stay in stunning Seattle, [...] Just a very short post to introduce two new members of the Olli & Lime team. Meet mini donkeys Morris and Morris, “the memo’s best friend[s]“, recruited in Portland… Designed by Yaacov Kaufman for MB, and bought from our favourite stationers, Paper Source, who’ve an impressive (growing) list of locations, some of which we’ve visited. Now we’re back in the UK, for a few weeks at least, we’ve started thinking about our new place, which I introduced a while back. Step one involves choosing some paint colours.
