Looking back at last January’s posts, I recalled this one, on Pantone’s ’2010 color of the year’. Lucky for us, it meshed nicely with our Egg range. Not so this year though, oh no… Yep, in December, Pantone pronounced its ’2011 Color of the Year’ to be Honeysuckle. In other words, pink…AKA the antithesis of Olli [...] Over the past year or two, I’ve intermittently mentioned our master plan to set-up an Olli & Lime office in the US. Well, it’s finally within reach. And it’s getting a bit scary. We’ve had an amazing year of North American exploration – Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Boston (of course), [...] In the past, I’ve posted on our inspiration for existing designs. This time, thought it’d be cool to give you a flavour of what we’re working on now. Here’s our latest mood board… A windmill theme – a Karen obsession – with a familiar palette, a nod to grey, and the re-introduction of turquoise. A Fun, [...] Sorry, posts are a little sporadic this year. It’s certainly not ‘cos we can’t be bothered. On the contrary, we’re too busy to think at the moment! Normal service will resume soon… Anyway, just thought I’d share this tidbit. We are on the look out for a new sofa at the moment and, in keeping with [...] Time is flying by, isn’t it? More than a 20th through 2011 already! With so much to do, I don’t need distraction. Imagine my joy when renovation began on the building opposite. ‘ACE’ it isn’t. Still, getting used to the noise. Plus it’s been a real eyesore so can’t complain. Anyway, something far more serious has [...] Happy Monday all! Slight departure now; some weekend finds from Karen, made online and leafing through supplements. Mix of textures – folds, pleats, loops – to create pattern. As such, they’re not particularly suited to tiny people! But would add depth, tactility and interest to a neutral, adult space. Something very familiar about the colour palette [...] When we started out, Karen’s dad Tony, who’s retired, thought it’d be a great idea to plot our sales on a map. Equipped with pins, pin boards and a variety of maps, he set to work. We even gave him his own job title: ‘Director of Global Positioning’ and a job description. Joking aside, it’s been useful. [...] A while back, I mentioned that we’d featured in Dwell’s 2010 Buyers’ Guide. We had trouble tracking down a copy in the UK, but I thought I’d have no such issues in Boston. I was wrong. And after hours scouring Borders, Barnes & Noble et al, we’d all but given up hope. Luckily, we spied one [...] Better late than never, my first post of 2011. Happy New Year! I have a feeling this’ll be a good one; hopefully for you too. Boston’s over, and it’s been an amazing, relaxing break. Having said that, we’re exhausted!
